New Delhi: The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, will host the BRICS MSME Forum and the Third SME Working Group Meeting on June 19, 2026, in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, under the overarching theme, “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.”
The BRICS MSME Forum will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and key stakeholders from BRICS member and partner countries to discuss strategies for strengthening global MSME ecosystems, promoting sustainability, and enhancing international cooperation.
Participating countries include Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, the UAE, Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and India.
India’s MSME Sector: A Key Driver of Economic Growth
India’s MSME sector, comprising more than 8.6 crore enterprises, continues to play a critical role in the country’s economic development.
The sector contributes over 31.1 percent to the national GDP, accounts for 35.4 percent of manufacturing output, and contributes more than 48.58 percent of India’s exports. It also generates large-scale employment opportunities across the nation.
The sector represents millions of stories of aspiration, innovation, resilience, and entrepreneurship. From traditional artisans and rural enterprises to advanced manufacturing units and technology-driven businesses, India’s MSME ecosystem reflects the diversity and strength of the country’s economy.

BRICS MSME Forum to Focus on Future-Ready MSME Ecosystems
The day-long programme under the BRICS MSME Forum will begin with the inauguration of an exhibition showcasing MSME excellence.
This will be followed by the Third SME Working Group Meeting of BRICS members on the theme, “Building MSME Ecosystem – Sustainable Roots to Global Routes.”
During the event, private-sector stakeholders and industry associations from BRICS countries will deliberate on critical issues affecting MSMEs, including access to finance, technology access, and the growth of sustainability-oriented enterprises.
The BRICS MSME Forum will also witness participation from senior government officials and delegates from BRICS nations, who will share best practices, policy experiences, and successful case studies aimed at fostering resilient and future-ready MSME ecosystems.

The BRICS MSME Forum is expected to strengthen cooperation among BRICS nations while creating a collaborative environment to support MSME growth and global competitiveness.
